Artist's Statement

As a South Florida artist, I am influenced by the sub-tropic foliage, forms and vivid colors within nature and that man made within the surroundings. The subject matter I select to paint are from ordinary surroundings that most of negate and pass – bye in our busy lives. But these visions – images are there to behold, bewilder and ponder upon. These intimate moments which we pass by are those I chose to hang on a wall in order to step up, call ones attention and emphasis towards as art. Moments in time.
Being classically trained in the principles and techniques of art; my medium of choice is oils on canvas. The schools of thought that influence me range are from impressionism through photorealism. My choice of an oil based medium allows for pure luminosity. Images that glow as in nature! To construct a three dimensional subject in a two dimensional manner in order to construct your response.
